HIND AUTO CAST
Cast flanges are projecting flat rims, ribs or collars used on objects for the purpose of giving the objects additional strength, stiffness and support. The flanges are used on a wide range of materials such as shafts, pipes, machine housings etc. These are generally manufactured from cast iron which means the flanges have a carbon content greater than 2 percent. These have optimal resistance to wear, deformation and also to weakening by oxidation.
Cast flanges are an essential part of various sectors ranging from the railways, plumbing to nuclear applications. Modern flanges have a sophisticated design and much closer tolerances that enables their usage in critical environments were the margin for error is minimal. Owing to their diverse usage, the flanges are available in a wide gamut of dimensions, shapes and also with different specifications and working mechanisms.
Production Process of Cast Flanges
The raw materials are kept into a medium frequency electric powered furnace and heated up to between 1600-1700 degrees Celsius.
The metal mold is also pre heated to between 800-900 degree celsius.
Molten metal is poured into the metal mold.
The molten metal in the mold is then allowed to cool down and become a casting. Notable thing here is that the temperature of casting is kept between 800-900 degrees Celsius for one to 10 minutes.
The casting is then dipped into water to cool it down rapidly.
Afterwards, the mold is removed, as a result leaving only the finished cast flange.
