These Cutisorb - Cosmetic Grade SAP are cosmetic grade super absorbent polymers used in a wide range of applications for their water absorbency capacity. They consist of a set of polymeric chains regularly linked to each other by cross-linking agents, thus forming a network. When water comes into contact with one of these chains, it is drawn into the molecule by osmosis. Water rapidly migrates inside of the polymer network where it is stored.
Cutisorb - Cosmetic Grade SAP has both scrubbing and exfoliating properties. With a massage they leave the skin pleasant and smooth. They are used for formulation of face and body care products.
CUTISORB absorption rate: 1 gram + 200 ml water = 500 ml swelled beads.
Owing to their specific structure, swollen particles of CUTISORB lose their shape during application on the skin surface. Since it has both scrubbing and exfoliating properties, after rinse off, the skin is soft & smooth.
Those mild exfoliating agents are based on non-abrasive particles which limit skin-flushing and stabbing.
Super Absorbent Polymers are also known as heat insulator. This property could be interesting for products such as facial masks or body packing, for example. Using CUTISORB could optimize the efficiency of active ingredients which effects are related to temperature.
