One of the first Indian 5 Cum Electric Rope Shovel manufactured and rolled out of assembly line was from HEC works in the yeas 1966. This rugged machine became very popular in Indian mining industry (coal and iron ore) and can be seen in almost all open cast mines of India. The machine was upgraded from 4.6 cu.m to 5 cu.m capacity with centralized lubrication system.
HEC supplied over 555 shovels for various mining organizations in India.
