The EC-300 horizontal machining center has a 20" x 18" x 14" (508 x 457 x 355 mm) work envelope, twin 300 mm pallets and built-in 4th-axis capabilities. The 8000-rpm, 40-taper spindle features a unique inline, direct-drive system that couples the motor directly to the spindle, for less vibration, heat and noise. This improves surface finishes and thermal stability, and also quiets operation. The 20-hp (14.9 kW) Haas vector drive produces plenty of low-end torque, as well as the rpm necessary for high-speed machining. The Haas control features advanced tool management, single-button features, 15" color LCD monitor and USB port.
