Whatever technology is applied to printer hardware, the final product consists of ink on the media, so it is vitally important when it comes to producing quality results. Two entirely different types of ink are used, one is slow and penetrating, and the other is fast-drying ink which dries faster. The former is better suited to monochrome printing, while the latter is typically used for color printing. Hence, the ink used in each cartridge are carefully selected to match the performance of each individual printer type.
