Steel wool is made of cold drawn steel wire of dia 3.1 mm with low carbon content. It is produced by careful shaving of steel wire into micro strands or fibers. The fibers width range between 25 to 125 microns and classified into eight grades as per international Standards. Depending on the grade of Steel wool, it is very effectively and conveniently used in household & diverse industries.
Based on texture, Steelwool is categorized from 0000# to 4# in 8 grades.
Applications
Steelwool possesses several important properties that make them suitable for use in a wide range of different applications.
1)Household and Domestic Cleaning
a.To clean and remove strong strains, rust and grease spots from household utensils, ceramics and glass wares.
b.To clean sanitary tiles, kitchen tops, etc
c.In restaurants to clean crockery, cutlery, Milk Containers, grease pots & pans.
2)Industrial Cleaning, Polishing and buffing
a.Smoothing, polishing and shinning rough surface of stones, timbers and floors
b.Preparing wall surfaces before painting,
c.Removal of salt deposit and other sedimentation during ship maintenance.
d.Cleaning of carbon and gunpowder deposits from the insides of tanks, rifles, cannons and guns.
e.Used as an insulating material in refractory and high temperature vessels.
