The jack can be used either at top or the bottom of the vertical (standard), so that a reasonable portion of the jack always remain inside the vertical base for safety purpose. When scaffolding is over uneven terrain these base jacks allow up to 500mm of height adjustment. They are a crucial part of scaffolding accessories.
