The booming engineering and technical ceramics technology markets of Southern Asia
will at last find theirchance to promote themselves to an international and national audience.
EVENT PROFILE:
The India ETC Expo 2010 is intended to be the biggest consumer fair of international standard at Karnavati Club Ahmedabad on 2-4 March 2010.
This timely addition to the country’s show calendar includes the manufacture of all types of refractories and insulating ceramics, these are important products both for the State of Gujarat – with its proliferation of light and heavy industry as well as infrastructure and energy issues – and the ceramic and allied scene in general.
Good news for the refractories and technical ceramics sector is the go-ahead being given for a new Foundry Cluster site close to Ahmedabad, with an investment of Rs 250 million. This is scheduled for Kathawada or Santej and will be home to around 70 companies in what has been a successful period for orders. For ceramic producers supplying the sector, volumes are set to increase and that means more orders for high temperature ceramics such as nozzles, crucibles and induction, cupola and pot furnace components.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- India’s total refractories production capacity is already in excess of 2 million tons.
- Technical ceramics has one of the highest growth rates in the Indian ceramic industry.
- Resurgent steel industry to provide ready market for enhanced high temp products.
- Massive market for micro components in ceramics – mobile phones, solar power industry .
- Increasing uptake of technical ceramics in the automotive, medical and defence industries– India challenging in all these areas.
