Agro Tech, India's Premier Biennal Agro Technology Fair, is being organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in response to the paramount need for enhancing agri and agri-related, both quantitatively and qualitatively from Dec 1-4' 2006 at Parade & Circus Grounds, Chandigarh ,India.

To achieve sustainable 8% GDP growth, it is important to empower Indian agriculture and the Indian agriculturist and ensure enhanced investment into the sector. Accordingly, the theme of Agro Tech 2006 has been identified as 'Technology in Agriculture: Growing Farmer Wealth'.

Agro Tech 2006 aims at working towards making the food and agri industry competitive in the long term. Being India's premier international agro technology fair, it is positioned as a top quality business exhibition.Seventh in the series, Agro Tech 2006 will focus on both matured sectors (sugar, oil etc.) and the emerging sectors (dairy, poultry, fruits and developments, agri biotechnology) and highlight the dynamic revolution in the retail and processed food market. Agro Tech 2006 will be strengthened by the presence of over 250 agro-based international and domestic players in the agriculture industry. More than 250,000 people, including around 50,000 business visitors with core specialization in different agricultural and related sectors are expected to visit the fair.
