TOPIC : What is my liability, if any?

I am an Indian agent selling some equipment on behalf of my foreign principals.

Suppose I sell some equipment to a customer in India in good faith - and the equipment fails - can the Indian customer hold me liable for his loss.

Please note that I Am not a signatory to the contract between the customer and my foreign principal. The customer has signed a contract directly with my principals.

Also, the customer carried out complete due diligence on my principals, visited their plant, did a reference check, had extensive technical discussions with the principal, shot videos of the equipment functioning, visited another customer of my principals etc etc.

Some of the equipment supplied is not working up to potential - customer has defaulted on final part of their payment and my principals have refused to continue with the Warranty to set the equipment right.
