The Fourth Edition of Medicall was inaugurated by Mr.V.K.Subburaj, Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamilnadu, India. There were more than 250 Exhibitors and 5700 Visitors during the three day event. During the inauguration the Health Secretary said that," Since government has announced the universal insurance scheme, an increase in flow of patients in the private sector is expected. The wide range of products displayed at the expo will help them to upgrade their hospitals. The seminar will be useful to update healthcare professional’s knowledge on various issues of Hospital Administration". Medicall 2009 / Medicallab attracts more than 5700 visitors
More than 5700 visitors, who visited the Medicall ensured that Medicall is the premier medical equipment show in India
nutshell, Dr. S. Manivannan, CEO of Medicall said 'as expected earlier, Medicall turned out to be a big hit among medical fraternity in India. With 5700 registered visitors the three days of the trade fair including the accompanying seminars closed better than the previous editions. The 250 exhibitors participating at Medicall presented the complete spectrum of products, services and processes for use in doctor’s surgeries and hospitals. In addition to those areas traditionally generating strong interest like furniture, Disposables, IT New products like ambulances, Nanocots, radiology products, infection resistant garment generated lot of interest among the visitors.

The 4th Edition also lived up to its reputation of being the sector’s foremost event for decision-makers. Many visitors said that they plan to start new projects and Medicall has helped them plan their investments.
Since many new health cities are coming up in and around major metros, the wide range of products displayed as well as the deliberation in the seminar on hospital construction, helped these investors to get in-depth knowledge about the sector.
The CSSD seminar attracted Theater / ICU nurses, Microbiologists and hospital administers. As Indian Hospitals are going in for various accreditations this seminar was very useful to streamline the infection control practices in their hospitals
Since many new hospitals and health cities are coming up in and around Chennai “the seminar on Hospital Construction” was well attended.
For the first time in India, a “seminar on Patient Safety” was organized. The experienced faculty shared their experience with the packed audience.
The CAP seminar organized along with Medicallab expo was attended by leading laboratory decision makers from the country.

The international faculty Dr. Baptist and Dr. Mega Joshi, from United States, gave valuable inputs about the CAP accreditation process. Other speakers shared their experience about CAP accreditation in their institutions.
The delegates felt that deliberations have kindled interest about accreditation amongst them, and this is expected to make many Indian labs to go for accreditation in the coming years.
In order to reach the North Indian State’s hospital owners, the organizers have planned a first event in 2010 at Hyderabad in February; Chennai will host the second event of the year in August 2010.
