JAS'09
Dates:24-27 July 2009
Venue: Birla Auditorium ,Jaipur,India

Despite the clouds looming in the sky, the sun looked brighter on July 24, 2009. Perhaps the glitter of gems and jewellery products displayed at the mega jewellery show – JAS 09 – added to the brightness of the sun. The show organised by Jaipur Jewellery Association was appreciated by one and all. The quintessential ingredients of a grand jewellery show – vibrant crowd, glittering jewellery, VIPs, seminars, rare jewels, variety of gems and style – all was part of the scintillating exposition which broke all the previous records as far as response is concerned. There was something for everyone in JAS-09.

The show was formally inaugurated by home minister Sh. Shanti Dhariwal and tourism minister Ms Beena Kak. Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council president Vasant Mehta and all India Gems and Jewellery Trade Federation chairman C Vinod Hayagriv were the chief guests of the function.

The inauguration of the show was marked by Jewellery Design Award function. To promote such designers who are continuously involved in creating some thing new, Jewellers Association Show organised jewellery design competition - JAS all Indian jewellery Design Award 09.

The grandeur and glamour of the show attracted celebrities and glitteratis in a large number. The striking feature of the show was that people from smaller towns and villages also visited the show.

Exhibitors which included the players from mainly the industries of Loose Color Gemstones, Gold Jewellery, Colorstone Jewellery, Diamond Jewellery Silver Jewellery, Platinum Jewellery, Certified Diamonds Pearls, Designer Jewellery, Kundan Jewellery, Meena Jewellery, Kundan-Meena Jewellery, Thewa Jewellery, Sozo Jewellery, Studded Traditional Jewellery, Contemporary Jewellery, Fusion Jewellery, Studded Hand crafted Jewellery, Jewellery Machinery & Tools, Jewellery Accessories, Different types of Gemstones etc.,did brisk business on all four days of the show. From the day 1 business was high in the minds of visitors. The show was a fitting tribute to the Teej festival it emanated different shades and colours of gems and jewellery under one roof. The visitors were so eager to watch the spectacle of jewellery that they came in hordes even before the show was formally open. The opening ceremony of the show was marked with a huge cavalcade of horses and elephants, which were lined up to welcome the visitors and exhibitors to the show.

Glamorous things end gallantly. The mega jewellery show, which left an indelible mark on the memories of Jaipurites had a grand opening and even grandeur culmination. The show, besides winning hearts of visitors and exhibitors, witnessed a lot of trading. The show, in true sense emerged as the rainbow amidst dark cloud of recession. There was no sign of global downturn during the show. Apart from comprehensive collection of vivacious jewellery, the four-day show dished out latest trends in jewellery world, heirlooms, advanced machinery, new marketing techniques and each and everything related to the shining world of gems and jewellery trade.

Tradeindia's participation at the show as the on-line media partner generated immense response from the visiting buyers. The buyers readily accepted the CD Roms in order to gain information on key players of the Indian gems and jewellery industry listed at tradeindia.com. As usual, our aim was been to disseminate as much information as possible on the Indian EXIM community amongst prospective buyers, and like every other show, the JAS 2009 proved to be an effective platform in serving our purpose.Tradeindia yellow promotional bags, distributed among the buyers, were a cynosure of all eyes. They were seen carried by the visitors on all the five days of the show across the exhibition complex. Thus,Tradeindia will be participating in the next edition of the show as well, which is scheduled for August 2010.
