Shouldering on the success story, the IREE 2009, 8th in the series has received an overwhelming response in terms of both domestic and international participation with over 150 exhibitors from 12 countries - Austria, Australia,China, France, Germany, India, Israel, Spain, Switzerland, Poland, United Kingdom and United States of America. Spread across an area of more than 8000 Sq Mtrs., the event showcased the latest technologies and products that will support the modernization plan of the Indian Railways in the coming years.
The Indian Railways Pavilion at IREE 2009 included display and active participation from 18 units of Indian Railways and its associates. The
Indian Railways, this time, is specially focused on Railway Equipment Manufacturers, Electrification & Overhead Line Equipment, Energy Conservation,
Locomotives & Rolling Stock, Maintenance & Service Equipment, Mass Rapid Transport Systems, Safety & Security Systems, Station
Equipment & Passenger Information System, Track Laying &Maintenance Equipment, Traffic Management Systems etc.
Keeping in view the current issues on security and the focus of Indian Railways on this area, for the first time, the 8 edition of IREE focused on safety and
security aspect of the Indian Railways under the Safety & Security Pavilion. The Safety & Security Pavilion, a first joint initiative of CII (Confederation of Indian Industry), APSA (Asian Professional Security Association) & FSAI (Fire and Safety Association of India) with over 15 companies displaying special security equipments and technologies for the railway stations and the entire rail system including the trains.
IREE Enterprise 2009, one more first time initiative, was a concurrent pavilion at 8th International Railway Equipment Exhibition showcasing the new technologies and systems developed by the Indian Small & Medium Enterprises in the Railway sector.
The IREE Enterprise 2009 had participation from over 30 companies from India.
Over 300 delegates attended the one day International Railway Conference on Development of Indian Railways : Opportunities & Challenges was held concurrently with the IREE 2009 on 24 August, 2009 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The conference was addressed by experts and prominent speakers from the industry, government and academia, from India and overseas, covering a broad array of topics including Railway initiatives at adopting State - of - the – Art Technology in Rolling Stock, Railway vision in Security and Disaster Management issues Development of Infrastructure - Track & Track Side equipment.
Tradeindia graced the event as its on-line media partner. The Tradeindia booth, during all the three days of the show, witnessed a great number of visitors turning up and interacting with our representatives. Getting familiar with the current b2b trends in promoting companies and products, most of them gave their trade details and showed keen interest in registering with us. Our representatives distributed Tradeindia CD Roms to all those who needed the much needed information about manufacturers, suppliers, exporters and service providers related to the railway industry listed with us. The CD Roms served the buyers' purpose of finding quality equipment suppliers from the corners of India. Tradeindia's red and yellow bags that hung on the visitors' shoulders, attracted many a curious buyer and exhibitor towards our booth.
