The decision to conduct the event in the State was taken considering the reputation achieved by Kerala as one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. International tourist arrivals in the State stand at over 5 lakhs, while domestic tourist arrivals have crossed the 60-lakh mark. In spite of the global crisis in tourism, many international and local hotel chains are still investing in new hotel properties and upgrading existing ones in the State.
The organisers also decided to conduct Kerala Culinary Challenge this year also with the support of the Department of Tourism. The prime objective of Culinary Challenge is to establish a professional platform where culinary professionals across the State can display their individual and collective skills, creativity, learn and share experience, partner and network in a purely competitive and business like environment.
We were the on-line media partner of the event. The huge data source of Indian manufacturers, suppliers ,exporters, and importers listed in its CD Rom found its way into the hands of quality buyers. Tradeindia Representatives distributed them and interacted with whoever were keen to obtain information about the portal. Most of the visitors already knew about Tradeindia and they visited the Tradeindia's booth to collect the Cd Roms in order to know more about the sourcing destinations in India for the Hospitality and Bakery sector. The comprehensiveness of the CD_ROMs was also quite appreciated by the masses. The bright Tradeindia bags, hanging on the shoulders of majority of the visitors, served as the mode for carrying exhibition stuff.
