In the year 1955-56, Late Pearylal Gupta commenced a business of Scrap and Hardware Goods procuring from retailers and selling them to the Steel plants in bulk amount. This trading business witnessed a new turn when he once purchased Sprockets and Chains in bulk under "Renold" brand of England. Observing the huge demand for Jute Mills, the Textiles and Engineering concerns arranged to sale in retail, opening a showroom at Calcutta under the trade name M/s. R.B. Trading Co.
