Ficus Ali: The Ficus is a new ornamental fig that is rapidly gaining popularity. This plant is more durable and easier to grow compared to other ficus species like the benjamina. In addition, it is much less finicky than among its kin. Ficus alii is an upright plant that depend its height to its form. Just like the other Ficus cultivars, this hybrid also shows the same ficus leaves dropping characteristic. Ficus Alii come in many forms - bushes, braids, standards and spiraled trunks.

Cordyline Australis Autumn: Cordylines are increasingly popular with both landscapers and in the home garden. Great planted in a lightly shaded warm spot where cordylines provide great colour, foliage ranges from green through orange and red to pink along with variegated forms. Cordyline varieties,include a variety of growth types; tall, medium, low and miniature. Cordyline 'Red Star' will grow to 2m 'Cordyline australis' will grow to 8m.

Calathea Ornata: The Calathea ornata develops like a perennial herb. This plant in the winter assumes a greenpurple colouring; it is large in size and can reach 1,5 m high. It keeps its leaves in the winter. The ramifications of these plants tend to develop downwards.

Bird's Nest Fern: Bird's nest ferns are actually one of two asplenium species found in cultivation. The other, often called the spleenwort or mother fern (A. bulbiferum) is much harder to grow and looks nothing like its cousin. These ferns are naturally epiphytic, and in their rainforest homes, can be found growing high in the crooks of trees. They grow in a series of erect, spoon-shaped and apple-colored fronds that rise from a central rosette. Healthy plants can have fronds up to three feet, but this is rare in most indoor situations. Yucca Elephantipes Green: Yucca elephantipes green and variegated varieties, from around 1 metre to 1,8 m tall.

Ficus Golden King: Like all variegated plants this fig looks great against against a dark wall, the creamy/yellow edges of the leaves really show-up well. Can grow to 4m.

Phildendron Cylon Gold: Its is a quick growing attractive climber. Leaves are oblong, base cordate, yellow, and gradually yellowish-green with edge.a

Phormium Rainbow Queen: Rainbow Queen, a strong growing variety with a rusty/bronze centre with bright pink margins. Leaves can get to 75mm (3") wide. Grows to 1.2m (4ft) Grows well in partial shade.

Ficus Profit: This plant is very temperamental. I find it does not like to be moved and hates cold drafts. Should be kept in an east or west window with filtered light, (though mine is doing fine in direct morning sun.) Water throughly and let soil dry out between waterings.

Calathea Rufibarba: Calathea rufibarba is a beatiful plant with olive-to-dark green arching leaves that have maroon-to-purplish undersides. The wavy/crinkled leaves and the purplish stems are covered with tiny hairs, giving this plant a fuzzy velvet feel. Because of this, this Calathea is sometimes called the Furry Feather Calathea. Truely a unique find! Growing to a maximum height of 16-18", this Calathea makes a wonderful addition to that shady spot on your deck or to your houseplant collection.

Yucca Golden Sword: This easy to grow evergreen yucca bears dramatic, sword-shaped yellow leaves with a dark green edge. Not as staunchly upright as some yuccas, its leaf tips sometimes droop with age. Its foliage color is best from fall to spring. Plants grow to nearly 2 feet in height and 3 feet in width. In summer, it produces a 6-foot-tall spike covered with nodding, fragrant, white bell-shaped flowers.

Calathea Triostar: The Calathea Triostar is a colourful American variety with pink and white flushed through its foliage. The waxy spear shaped leaves make a beautiful addition to an office and are primarily used to add colour and shape to desks or tabletops.

Cordyline australis Red star This plant is everywhere and is another export from across the ditch (New Zealand). Mass produced by tissue culture and sold as an indestructible clump forming container or garden plant which will grow in any climate or situation from sea spray coastal to mountains. It has quite a bit going for it as far as the colour goes, as it is a rich burgundy wine red and therefore useful for brightening shady areas.
